My friend, Madd Matt, sent me these pictures taken at Lake Conroe near Houston. This catfish is slightly smaller than the one that produced the skeleton in my last post! Yes, that's an inflated basketball in his mouth.

When I was a kid living in McKinney we had a boat and often would go to Lake Texoma and fish and ski regularly. One time I am skiing and this dead Channel cat is floating on top of the water, I don't know for sure how big it was but I am sure it but I am sure that it was more than 4 feet and it had to weigh well over 50. I got a good look at it because my dad kept going around it and I must have passed within 3 feet of it.
Whoa! I actually swam there a couple of times. Good thing it didn't swallow my head!
