Sometimes a shirts says it all.
My friend, The Padawan Pastor, mentions this shirt on his blog. I loved it, and thought it needed to be out there where everyone can enjoy it!

so what does it mean...is church a trap...where did you meet Jesus...i met him in a church...how big is the box...does it include all churches...or just the ones which do not fit your idea of church...what does the tshirt say to those who do not know Jesus...ya cant trust any church?...just wondering...
you have written so much over the centuries, i marvel at how prolific you are. how old are you by now?
here is how I interpret the shirt: this is the churches view of evangelism, we have to coax/trick/lure people into church and bam we present the gospel to them...
the deeper point is that this is an obvious ploy to those outside that church walls and thus a failed endevour.
the point to take home is, discipleship and evangelism (which in my view or inseperable) happen outside the church walls. the only way that works is a loving relationship with people that draws them not to a 'box' (a building) but directly to Jesus...
Obviously church isn't a trap. But the mentality of growing the church has become something akin to this shirt. McMinn hits it hard and well in his comment. More importantly, the t-shirt spurred a discussion here. I met Jesus in my High School, where He was living boldly through the lives of His followers on our campus.
...easy there mcminn, i am old enough to be yur grandpappy...which also explains why i might have a hard time understanding what yall are saying...not agin it or yall, just trying to see it the way ya do...maybe old men shouldnt be messin around with ya young pups...what ya think....
